Located in Adelaide’s leafy Eastern foothills, Wattle Park offers spectacular views of Adelaide’s CBD and the beaches beyond. From earliest conception, our client wanted a split level house that followed the gentle contour of their site.
Wattle Park house is a simple stacking of boxes with a crisp pavilion roofs. The street level elevation is a modest form reflecting the streets existing vernacular of single story dwellings punctuated with a private walled front garden.
From the entry level floor you find yourself drawn to the feature stair / light well connect all three levels and serves as the spine of this open plan stacked layout. The lower level features a large open double height living and kitchen with the pantry, laundry and bathroom tucked neatly under the upper levels.
From the houses elevated position, the living area, kitchen, bedrooms and office enjoy 180º views of the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula. The deep yard only exaggerates the house’s connection with landscape and views beyond.
